I'm perfectly happy with this as long as I can shoot the idiots who spend rl cash on vanity items and steal said vanity items.
as long as I can enjoy your stuff after you have paid for it, I support this 100%. however, if I can't take your stuff and am left with the choice of buy it I'll rage.
also, who is going to spend real money on ship decals etc? presumably as has been posited you are going to let people buy designs and logos as one time deals and re-use them indefinitely?
allowing people to add value to their eve online accounts .. so that when they get hacked and wiped out they cry louder than ever?

Originally by: Blazde The number of people wanting to trade ISK for RL$-items will increase (people wanting to buy monocles for ISK) The number of people wanting to trade $ for ISK presumably won't be significantly affected
Result is yes PLEX prices will go up. The mechanics in between of different currencies, set conversion and all the "monitoring extremely closely" in the world won't change that
It's probably a good thing though. Aside from strongly disagreeing with the legitimised RMT route that PLEX brought in the first place... one of the stated aims was to squeeze out the illegal RMT, which clearly hasn't happened (perception at least is it's worse than ever). Increased PLEX prices will divert more trade to the legitimate route
Increasing plex prices will just make people quit. They're already nudging 400m. Few people who don't sit here all day grinding are gonna be able/willing to soend 3/4's of a bill a month on two accounts game time.
I'm certainly not gonna spend a bill or more if they hit 500m. Sod that.

If there is something you want, you can buy it in the marketplace for ISK or in the store for Aurum. I don't think it is behind as much of a wall as you think. But this will make more sense once you see it.
The difference is that the seller in the store is an NPC but the seller in the marketplace is another character.
the wording of the dev blog is unfortunate in that it infers you don't view our subs as being sufficient to provide new content for eve. its like 'here's incarna! now you have to pay for all the content you want to use in it!'.

Originally by: Alice Katsuko Of course, the same silly people who now transport stacks of PLEX in T1 frigates will probably start transporting stacks of expensive clothes and then whine when they inevitably get blown up outside Jita undock, but that's completely their fault.
That said, it would be nice if CCP let us keep the selection of clothing currently available in the character creator. But it's their game and their business model, and overall the implementation seems to be sound.
tbh I am looking forward immensely to wearing my hand-made 'cloths' worth a billion isk on the promenade and smacking the chavved up local noobs with my absurdly expensive chrome-plated cane.
